Ritchie Centre Award

This award is sponsored by the Ritchie Centre and will be presented to the researcher whose fundamental discovery offers the potential to lead to changes in perinatal clinical practice, or for work that progresses such a discovery closer to clinical application.

Self-nomination for consideration for the PSANZ Ritchie Centre Award for Translational Research must be made at the time of abstract submission.

This award is valued at $1000. The winner of the PSANZ Ritchie Centre Award for Translational Research will receive payment of the award into their account post event once they have filled in an Award Form which will include a brief summary of their research for the post congress newsletter and media purposes.

The award will be judged by members of the congress awards judging panel.

The award is open to any abstract, regardless of status of the investigator or whether the investigator has won the award previously. To be eligible for a PSANZ Ritchie Centre Award for Translational Research the applicant must:

• be a PSANZ member at the time of presentation

• be the presenter and first author of the abstract

Note: abstract reviewers will be asked to confirm that the abstract meets the relevant theme of this award. If not deemed relevant to the theme the abstract will be ineligible and not judged.

Award will be announced on the final day of Annual PSANZ Congress

The PSANZ Ritchie Centre Award may be awarded to a researcher at any stage of their career. The recipient of the PSANZ Ritchie Centre Award will receive $1,000 towards the cost of attending a subsequent PSANZ Annual Congress.

Nominations for consideration for the award will not be requested. A short list of nominees will be generated by the Conference Local Organising Committee, based on review of submitted abstracts. Presentations of short-listed abstracts (posters and/or oral presentations according to programming) will be judged by members of the Congress Awards Judging Panel. The PSANZ Ritchie Centre Award will be presented along with other awards from the Society at the Closing Session of the Annual Congress.

The mechanism for administration of the award will be the same as that for the PSANZ New Investigator Awards.
